Thor: Ragnarok May Introduce New Female Characters
Just a day after the news that the Hulk would have a major role in Thor: Ragnarok comes a story that not only backs up that claim, but also puts forth the idea that some new female characters from the comics may be added to the mix as well.

A report from Birth.Movies.Death. claims that the Hulk will indeed be featured heavily in Thor: Ragnarok, as Banner and the God of Thunder go on a "cosmic road trip together, Hope and Crosby style." That sounds like it could be a movie all by itself, but the report goes on to claim that during their travels the super-strong pair encounter the Valkyries, legendary female warriors of Norse legend. And among the Valkyries may be Valkyrie herself, a Marvel Comics hero who has had stints with the Defenders and Avengers since her debut in 1970. The report also implies that Enchantress, one of Thor's greatest villains from the comics, might also appear, but they don't really have any evidence to back up their theory other than the suggestion that Marvel is looking to cast some great women, plural, in the movie.

As for the script itself, the report states that it's the darkest yet for Marvel, with a serious apocalyptic tone throughout. This is apparently the reason why the studio hired comedy director Taika Waititi to helm the film, so he can add some lightness to the apparently very bleak script.

As with any rumors, we suggest you take these with a heaping helping of salt, but if they're true, the film could go a long way toward shifting the gender imbalance in the MCU.
