Check Out The Best Fan Art Currently On the Web For DC Comics’ Darkseid
Darkseid is one of the biggest baddies in the entire DC Multiverse. He's one of the greatest threats that the Justice League has ever had to face, and his home planet known as Apokolips is quite possibly one of the most terrifying places any superhero could ever find themselves. Now, some fan art by the Moving Picture Company's Sean Ray has come to light, and it's quite possibly the most realistic and intricate take on Darkseid the world has ever seen:

The artwork is nothing short of spectacular, and it's hard not to desperately want a future DCEU Darkseid to look exactly like this. Sean Ray was apparently one of the 3D Character/Creature artists who worked on Batman v Superman, so who knows - maybe this fan art could be a foretaste of what's to come.

That being said, the likelihood of Darkseid being featured in any of the DCEU's currently planned films is somewhat questionable. While no doubt one of the biggest enemies of the Justice League in the DC Universe, Marvel has already made it known that their using a very similar enemy to Darkseid in their upcoming movies: Thanos.

No one can deny that Darkseid and Thanos are very similar characters. Thanos' creator, Jim Starlin, was very open about Darkseid serving as inspiration for his new creation. As the story goes, Starlin was originally going to make the character somewhat similar to DC's Metron, but was told by his editor that if he was going to take inspiration from one of DC's gods, to go for the cooler one. And thus, Thanos was born.

Since Darkseid and Thanos are so similar, it seems unlikely that he will be used as a villain in the DCEU anytime in the near future. DC has made it known from the start that they're trying to go for something completely different with their cinematic universe than what Marvel's going for, and that's definitely a smart move. Who would ever prefer a cheap Marvel imitation compared to something wholly original and different?

However, there is still a chance that Darkseid could show up in Justice League or a similar film. After all, Cyborg is going to be in the film, and the New 52 version of Cyborg's origins are utterly tied into Darkseid's first attempted invasion of Earth Prime. Fans will just have to wait and see. Until then, however, they can enjoy these awesome fan-made images of the one who is entropy, death, and Darkseid!
