Details Emerge on Captain America: Civil War's Villain, Baron Zemo
Captain America: Civil War is going to feature just about every hero from the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, but just one major bad guy that we know of (Crossbones is henchman-level, not major): Baron Helmut Zero. We know that Daniel Brühl is playing the character in the film, but other than that, there's not a ton we know a ton about him. For example, what role will he be filling as a villain when all of the heroes are busy fighting each other? Thankfully, Brühl is finally speaking out about his mysterious role, and it sounds like this is going to be a different Zemo than what we're used to seeing.

Speaking to Business Insider about the role, Brühl made a number of surprising declarations. For one, he said that Zemo does not wear his iconic mask in the film, despite his face being completely covered at all times in the comics. He went on to say that the movie's Zemo is "different than what you'd think" and that he's only "loosely connected" to the Zemo of the comics. So what does this mean?

It could mean that Zemo is dropping his famous Nazi origins. Brühl says in his interview, "Some of the characters and things they're dealing with always reference to current events, so my character is from a different area than you would think." That seems to indicate that Zemo is getting a modern update for the MCU. Maybe he's a tech wizard, Mark Zuckerberg-type? Or maybe he's a rogue terrorist? We've got until next year to find out, but it sounds like this won't be your father's Baron Zemo. Literally.
