Amazing Fanmade Credit Sequence for Captain America: Civil War Will Get You Even More Excited
It's hard to believe that we still haven't seen any official footage of Civil War, but we haven't, and we're dying over here. Now, Marvel superfan Mighty Raccoon! (anyone else hoping that's a GOTG reference?) has created opening credits for the superhero-stuffed Captain America film, and if the real credits are half this rousing, we'll be happy campers.

The animation is simple, but effective, and the credits show off the amazing (if possibly overlarge) cast of superheroes and villains. We have the Avengers: Cap, Iron Man, Black Widow, and Hawkeye, newer additions Falcon, Ant-Man, Scarlet Witch, and Vision, Captain America/Iron Man supporting characters Winter Soldier, War Machine, and Agent 13, and antagonists Crossbones, Baron Zemo, and Thaddeus Ross. The music starts to swell as they introduce Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther, and finally reaches a crescendo with Tom Holland as Spider-Man (this is the moment that everyone starts cheering at Comic Con).

The credits finish off with both of the teams, which were revealed in recent concept art. Black Widow, War Machine, Black Panther, and Vision will all side with Tony Stark, while Bucky Barnes, Sam Wilson, Hawkeye, Ant-Man, and Sharon Carter will all side with Captain America, with Spider-Man caught between the two (although in the comics, he ends up on the pro-registration side). These teams seem ill-matched at first glance, especially with Vision on Tony's side, until you realize that Scarlet Witch is the most powerful of all, is still a wild card, and despises Iron Man.

This will tide us over for now, but you would think that an official teaser would come out soon, especially considering that footage was already shown at D23 in August. Maybe Marvel is waiting to make it a holiday gift, but we hope we'll have something in the next couple of weeks.

Captain America: Civil War opens on May 6, 2016.
