Mark Ruffalo Thinks Thor and Hulk Will Probably Fight in Thor: Ragnarok
After he was unceremoniously cut out of Civil War, Hulk is making an appearance in Thor: Ragnarok, and he may get into a superhero scuffle of his own. According to Mark Ruffalo, Marvel might give fans something they've always wanted: a fight between Hulk and Thor.

Hulk Will Fight Thor in Thor: Ragnarok

Opening quote
"I didn't really know that much about it, but I think it's going to be a buddy picture with Thor and Bruce Banner," Ruffalo said to Daily News while promoting his new film, Spotlight. "I think they'll probably fight. There's no doubt, everyone wants us to fight at one point."
Closing quote

It's unclear from his statements whether he actually knows this for a fact, or whether he's just speculating as a fellow fan, but either way, we would love to see this. Thor, who is literally a god, and Hulk, who is pretty much indestructible, are the most powerful Avengers by a landslide (aside from Scarlet Witch), so everyone would, in fact, love to see them face off.

When pressed for more plot details about Thor: Ragnarok, he mostly kept it vague, although he did comment on the meaning of the subtitle:

Opening quote
"I know that it's about (the Norse legends of) 'Ragnarok,' or the end times in the Marvel universe as it pertains to Thor -- which seems to be quite the theme these days in movies."
Closing quote

"Ragnarok" refers to the "end times" in Norse mythology that leads to the deaths of many Norse gods, but also to a Marvel comics supervillain, who is a cyborg clone of Thor. I thought the latter would be the focus of the film, but if Ruffalo's statements are to be believed, the title refers to the former. (Or, if we know Marvel, it likely refers to both.) Regardless, Chris Hemsworth contract will be up very soon, so we should probably be a little worried about the character's fate. Although, he's definitely contracted for Infinity War, which will come out after Thor: Ragnarok, so maybe we don't have to be too worried.

Thor: Ragnarok opens in theaters on November 3, 2017.
