Star Wars: The Force Awakens on Track For a Record Opening
We've known for some time that The Force Awakens was going to be a huge hit and likely break records, but the newest data is showing that this movie's box office performance is going to be unlike anything we've ever seen before. According to Collider, the latest information shows The Force Awakens tracking toward a massive $225 million opening weekend!

The current record was set just a few months ago by Jurassic World, whose $208 million haul squeaked by the $207 million The Avengers earned in 2012. But if The Force Awakens can bring in $225 million, it won't be just barely beating Chris Pratt's dinosaur movie - it will be destroying it. Obviously it's still early and the data can change, but the hype surrounding this movie seems to be growing, not waning.

Every new trailer and teaser that comes along practically breaks the internet like Kim Kardashian's rear end, and with more new footage heading to TV on Thursday we should expect another round of excited speculation this weekend. We obviously won't know the numbers until after the movie opens on December 18, but I know I've never witnessed this kind of fervor over the release of a movie. So get your tickets now - if you can.
