This Fan Film Proves a Miles Morales Spider-Man Movie Would Totally Work
Next year, a new Spider-Man will swing onto our screens in Captain America: Civil War before getting his very own movie in 2017. When the news broke that Marvel had struck a deal with Sony to bring Spidey into the MCU, there was understandably a great deal of excitement. But, not all of that excitement was necessarily because we were going to get another movie about Peter Parker, after all we've had 5 of those already. Instead many Marvel fans had gotten their hopes up that a different Spider-Man would be gracing our screens, a Spider-Man that had built a pretty huge following since he first appeared in Marvel's comics back in 2011.

Alas, it would appear that Miles Morales had been overlooked and we would instead be getting another Peter Parker on the big screen. And, while we're sure Tom Holland is going to make an awesome Spider-Man, it sure would have been nice to see something a little bit different.

This desire for something different appears to have been recognized by Director/Spider-Man fan Ivan Kander who, with a beautifully simple 9-minute short film, proved that you don't need Peter Parker to make a great Spider-Man movie. It even has a sweet post-credits scene for that authentic Marvel experience.
