Watch a New Star Wars: The Force Awakens Clip and a Special Pentatonix Performance of the Theme Music
Last night, on the American Music Awards, there was a huge tribute to Star Wars, which included a brand-new and explosive clip from The Force Awakens:

The clip is short, but it's surprisingly exciting (and technically the first full clip from the film), as Finn and Rey try to escape Jakku in a quad jumper, but it's blown up before they can reach it. From the footage it looks like they're not shying away from making Rey the protagonist, which is a very good thing. She's the faster runner, and although Finn underestimates her, she's the pilot of the two, and it seems that she'll be saving him rather than the other way around.

Harrison Ford also introduced this special a capella version of the Star Wars theme music by the wonderful Pentatonix, who were all dressed in full Star Wars get-up, promising we would hear the theme "in a way you've never heard before." In the video, Pentatonix harmonize beautifully with the infamous score, making it all the more satisfying when a full orchestra joins in, and preparing us to be a flood of tears when we hear the theme music in the theaters.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens comes out on December 18.
