Kurt Russell Eyed to Play Spoiler-y Role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Is the Marvel Cinematic Universe about to land a geek icon? According to a new report, none other than Kurt Russell-of The Thing, Grindhouse, Stargate, and pretty much every cult movie ever fame- is being eyed by Marvel for a key role in Guardians of the Galaxy 2, one that may be crucial to the entire plot of the movie.

Possible spoilers ahead! (Click to reveal)

According to The Wrap, Russell is James Gunn's top choice to play Star Lord's father. It's unknown exactly who that character will be, but Gunn has stated that the film will largely be about Star Lord's relationship with his father, so it will likely be a very prominent role.

The report states that the role hasn't been officially offered yet, so it's barely more than a rumor for now. But it makes sense, considering that Marvel is aiming extremely high with their casting lately. They offered Matthew McConaughey a villain role in Guardians, and reportedly have been in talks with Cate Blanchett for a prominent role in Thor: Ragnarok.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 opens in theaters on May 5, 2017.
