Marvel Preview: Patsy Walker aka Hellcat Debuts New Solo Comic Series
Jessica Jones may have brought the titular superheroine to greater prominence (and critical acclaim), but Trish Walker was a breakout character as well, playing out a slightly more traditional superhero origin story while developing a well-rounded and compassionate relationship with Jessica. The Patsy Walker from Marvel Comics is a little bit different from Trish, but they both have terrible mothers and a penchant for one-liners, which is good enough for us.

The new solo series, which debuts next week, is written by Kate Leth, best known for her work on the acclaimed Power Up! miniseries, and is illustrated by Brittney Williams, who has also worked on The Legend of Korra.

From the preview pages, this take on the superhero is fun and lighthearted, breezing through exposition without breaking a sweat and gleefully announcing her superpower of "butt-punching," which she learned on the moon. And in my favorite part, Patsy defeats her first villain with pop culture references, specifically Wicked:
