New Doctor Strange Concept Art and Set Photo Reveal the Sanctum Sanctorum
After months of mystery, we're finally getting more details on Doctor Strange, including the Doctor Strange Images, Plus Mads Mikkelsen Confirmed as Villain" href="http://www.outerplaces.com/science-fiction/item/10767-new-doctor-strange-images-plus-mads-mikkelsen-confirmed-as-villain" target="_blank">first images, the nature of Rachel McAdams' and Mads Mikkelsen's characters, and more. Now, we have our first glimpse of Stephen Strange's magic headquarters: the Sanctum Sanctorum.

In the comics, the Sanctum Sanctorum is a floor of an apartment building in New York City, at 177A Bleecker Street (which is an apartment building in real life, right next to a tattoo parlor). It's spelled so it has much more space than would be physically possible when looking from the outside (every New Yorker's dream!), and is undetectable to enemies, even by the Extremis armor of Iron Man.

If they remain true to the comics, the Sanctum Sanctorum is a distinctly New York location, and it also served as the headquarters for the Defenders in the comics at one point. We're not crossing our fingers for any kind of substantive crossover, but there will probably be a few Defenders Easter eggs in Doctor Strange or vice versa.

Doctor Strange stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo, Tilda Swinton as The Ancient One, and Rachel McAdams and Mads Mikkelsen as unnamed characters. It comes out in theaters on November 4, 2016.
