The Live-Action Teen Titans TV Show Is Officially Dead
A live-action TV show on TNT for the DC Comics series Teen Titans was announced well over a year ago, and we haven't heard anything official about it since. We assumed it was in some sort of development hell, but according to TNT network president Kevin Reilly, it's no longer in development at all.
Opening quote
"It is not [still in development]," Reilly told TV Line. "We just decided it wasn't quite where we wanted to go."
Closing quote

The show was written by Oscar winner Akiva Goldsman (A Beautiful Mind), who is now hard at work in the Transformers writers' room (ew). The show would reportedly follow team leader Dick Grayson/Robin/Nightwing, as well as Barbara Gordon/Batgirl, Dawn Granger/Dove, Rachel Roth/Raven, and Starfire.

This is sad for Teen Titans fans, but it might be for the best. We already have a huge roster of superhero shows, not to mention Teen Titans Go!, and as Reilly said back in May, a live-action Teen Titans would need to be very special in order to stand out from the other teen-oriented DC shows. With the Flash/Arrow universe ever-expanding on The CW, and Supergirl gaining popularity on CBS, Teen Titans might have been one too many.
