'Gambit' Finally Has a Production Start Date
Despite all the trouble it went through getting off the ground, it looks like Fox's Gambit movie will finally begin filming soon. How soon? Well, in case you couldn't tell by Channing Tatum's ridiculous hair at the Golden Globes, the movie is reportedly starting production in New Orleans this March, according to local ABC affiliate WGNO in The Big Easy.

That's right, Tatum and his regrettable 'do will be hitting the streets of "Hollywood South" in about two months, which is good news for fans of the Cajun X-Man. The film was originally scheduled to begin filming last November, but when director Rupert Wyatt dropped out, its production was halted. Then Tatum nearly left the project as well, putting it in serious jeopardy of ever being made at all, but he ultimately decided to stay. In recent months, the film's luck has begun to improve with the reported hiring of Doug Liman (Edge of Tomorrow) to direct, adding stability to the once-shaky film.

As for the film's October 2016 release date, well, there's just no way that's happening. No new date has been announced yet by Fox, but with shooting set to begin in March, there's just no way the film can keep its current release schedule. Maybe if all goes well, we'll be able to see the card-slinging mutant in theaters by Spring, 2017.
