Marvel Developing a Second Comedy TV Show
We were pretty excited when we first heard about Damage Control, the new sitcom Marvel was developing for ABC about the guys who clean up the messes left behind by superhero battles. It's a great concept, and could be a great show. Well, apparently Marvel has so much confidence that it will be a hit and kick off a new genre that they're already developing a second superhero-based comedy!

ABC Entertainment Group President Paul Lee spoke to IGN recently, and revealed that the network envisions superhero comedies as something we're going to be seeing a lot more of - but he stopped short of revealing what the second show will be about, saying, "in the long term, we'd love it to be" on ABC. He also said this about Marvel's future in comedy:

Opening quote
"We definitely want to do Marvel comedies as well as dramas and of course, as you know, we supply lots of dramas to Netflix ... Our job is to make great television. We pick up the best scripts we can, we put in the best casts. Our job is to make great TV."
Closing quote

So what could this second Marvel comedy be about? Maybe a sitcom about the life of Squirrel Girl? She's pretty funny. Or Kamala Khan, another laugh-a-minute character who's been knocking on the door of the MCU for sometime now. Or perhaps it will be another concept-based show like Damage Control, maybe one about a superhero therapist or something.

The idea of superhero comedies definitely seems like one worth exploring, and we're of the opinion that Marvel Studios is the place most likely to do the concept justice.
