Battlestar Galactica Alum Cast as Villainous Turtle on The Flash
For those of you who (like me) miss Battlestar Galactica dearly, Chief is coming back to nerd culture—this time as a villain. Aaron Douglas, aka Galen Tyrol, will play the DC Comics character Turtle in the midseason premiere of The Flash.

In the comics, Turtle (or Turtle Man) has had several variations on the same ability to slow time, sometimes using devices he invented and at other times "stealing" others' speed to slow everyone around him to a crawl. In the show, he will be a metahuman who can slow time itself, which makes him a perfect adversary for Team Flash.
Opening quote
"In a surprisingly funny twist, Cisco has actually been hunting The Turtle the entire series," Kreisberg told EW. "To Barry's surprise, everybody knows about Cisco's hunt for the great white whale, which is The Turtle; he's the only one who didn't know about it. We love the idea that there was a villain out there that they knew about, but they just haven't bothered to tell the audience about yet. All Barry wants to do is get faster, because if he can get faster, he can take on Zoom. He's going up against a villain who is literally slowing him down. This is one of our best episodes coming back that we've ever done. It feels big and emotional."
Closing quote

The actor makes a blink-and-you-miss-it appearance in the promo for the midseason premiere, which is called "Potential Energy" and will see Barry try to save Patty from Zoom.

The Flash returns with new episodes on January 19 on The CW.
