Star Wars: Episode VIII Delayed Until December 2017
Bad news, Star Wars fans, we'll have to wait a little bit longer to find out what the hell is up with Rey's parentageStar Wars: Episode VIII has been moved from its original release date of May 26, 2017 to the end of the year, December 15, 2017.

This likely isn't any reason to worry, considering that Rogue One is set to come out this December, and they're set to release approximately one movie per year. It might have given them a box office advantage to open in the summer blockbuster season, but at the same time, if The Force Awakens can come out in December and go on to become the highest grossing movie of all time in North America, then they can probably just do whatever they want.

The only ones who should be upset about this are Warner Bros., who were set to release their sci-fi adaptation Ready Player One on the same date. In all likelihood, it will change its release date. Ready Player One and Star Wars have a lot of overlap in demographic, and no one is about to win a game of chicken with Star Wars.
