Paul Rudd Talks Ant-Man's Role in the MCU
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is constantly growing, with more heroes than ever slated to appear in May's Captain America: Civil War. But ironically, one of the biggest roles in Marvel's new reality is reserved for its tiniest hero: Ant-Man.

Paul Rudd, who portrays the shrinking crime fighter, recently spoke to Superhero Hype about his character being added to the Civil War cast:

Opening quote
"I know that when I signed up for [Ant-Man] that there was always the potential that they'd do another one or it would tie in in some way, but specifically, I wasn't aware and I'm still not totally aware of how that's the case. We are doing a second one, so those meetings are starting to be scheduled and underway as far as what it's going to be. We'll start writing it soon."
Closing quote

He goes on to discuss how it's been working with the House of Ideas:

Opening quote
"Marvel's been great, as far as if I have something else and they'll work around it. It's not like I'm working on a series which might be a little trickier as far as schedule. I worked on Civil War and I didn't really work on it for very long, but as far as Ant-Man 2, I already know when that's going to go, so you just kind of plan accordingly. If anything comes along that I can film before or after and it works out time-wise and it makes sense, Marvel's been supportive."
Closing quote

Hmm... "if anything else" comes along, he says. While it's pretty much a given that Scott Lang will show up to help defend the universe against Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, there remains the possibility that he could show up in support of another hero's movie as well. Maybe he'll pop up in Black Panther, since the two are scheduled to meet in Civil War. Or perhaps he'll show up in Captain Marvel when that finally hits theaters. And of course, we can't forget about the new Spider-Man. They are both bug-themed heroes, after all.

Wherever Rudd shows up, we're all for it. Ant-Man was surprisingly enjoyable, and that was due in large part to Rudd's charming and funny performance. Come to think of it, let's just have Paul Rudd in every Marvel movie moving forward. Sound good?
