As the likes of Alien, The Fly, and The Thing have all proven, Sci-Fi and Horror are perfect bedfellows. With that in mind, it's surprising that so few properties have truly excelled at exploiting the synergy between the two genres. Epic Pictures Group is hoping that their latest acquisition could set this poor track record straight. Announced today, Epic has acquired Half Life, an indie Sci-Fi/Horror movie that blends dystopia with conspiracy while also bringing some serious thriller aspects.

Starring Tom Sizemore (Twin Peaks) Dominic Monaghan (Lord of the Rings), and Sarah Habel (Whip It), Half Life looks set for a 2016 release. While it might not have the blockbuster budget to satisfy some palates, the trailer suggest it should have plenty to offer fans of both indie horror and sci-fi. As far as the plot goes, check out the official description below.
