Krang Arrives in Super Bowl Trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows
Nickelodeon are throwing the proverbial kitchen sink at their follow up to the 2014 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, with an insane number of fan favorite TMNT characters making an appearance. We've already seen Bebop and Rocksteady, as well as Stephen Amell's Casey Jones, but there's one character we've all been waiting for.

The wait for the villainous Krang finally came to an end during the Super Bowl this evening, as a new TV spot paid some serious service to fans of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise. Will it be enough to send them flocking to the theaters in the Summer, though?

It's not hard to see from this trailer that Out of the Shadows is essentially going to be an homage to the 1980's cartoon, and in many ways that's a great deal more exciting than the nonsense Michael Bay put out first time around. However, to truly succeed, this movie is going to need to attract a new generation of fans to the franchise, and not just the ageing 30 somethings like myself who might go and see if for a drop of nostalgia.

While the Heroes in a Half Shell have been around for a long time, it's safe to say that nothing has come close to beating the original 80's cartoon. Out of the Shadows has a long way to go if it's going to return its franchise to the glory days, but it's certainly putting its best foot forward with the appearance of one of the ultimate 1980's cartoon villains.
