Creepy X-Files Finale Images Tease Scully's True Nature
During the Super Bowl last night, Fox revealed the first two-and-a-half minutes of the X-Files finale for a limited time, and then took it down from official channels. Now that it's "classified," this video will be taken down any minute, so watch it now before it disappears:

As per usual, Scully herself best sums up our reaction:

The first two minutes of the finale, which serves as a bookend to the mythology-heavy premiere, mirrors Mulder's opening monologue, in which he described his journey with the X-Files. In voiceover, Scully recounts her assignment to the X-Files in order to oversee Mulder's work, which she once discounted as "science fiction," her abduction and subsequent realization that there was a bona fide government/alien conspiracy in which a "self-interested cabal" worked to conceal burgeoning technologies from the public.

And finally, Scully's journey is capped off with her realization in the miniseries' premiere that she has "DNA anomalies which [she] can only classify as alien."

And then, in the final shot, shit gets real:

Of course, this isn't an actual scene in which Scully morphs into a full-fledged alien, but rather a visual metaphor for her realization that she has alien DNA. But still, this shot tells us that they won't be shying away from that ominous test result, and that we may finally find out exactly what happened to Scully when she was abducted by the alien conspiracy.

The X-Files airs on Mondays at 8pm on Fox. The series (or possibly season) finale will air on February 22.
