The Walking Dead Midseason Premiere May Have Given Away Who Dies in the Finale
The Walking Dead finally returned on Sunday, and with the somewhat disappointing premiere came more speculation about which characters are going to die this season, especially in the season finale, which is already getting buzz for being particularly deadly and disturbing. Now that 6B has officially kicked off, we have a slightly better idea about who's going to bite the bullet at the close of the season, and let me just say, fans are not going to be happy about this.

Spoilers/possible spoilers for The Walking Dead season 6 ahead!

In the midseason premiere, Daryl, Sasha, and Abraham had their first run-in with the Saviors (as they're named in the comics), the thuggish biker gang headed by Negan. They had the drop on our protagonists for a few minutes, but then, in true Daryl fashion, our favorite taciturn Survivor Man killed the Savior holding him hostage without tipping off the others, retrieved a rocket launcher, and blew them all away.

Now, the internet has grabbed hold of this shot right before the Saviors are killed, in which a white car ever-so-briefly comes into the corner of the frame. Fans are now speculating that this car belonged to surviving Saviors who witnessed the whole incident, and that this small detail is meant to tease Negan finding out about Daryl killing his crew and dealing out retribution with Lucille, his preferred weapon of a baseball bat covered in barbed wire, which he uses to kill Glenn in the comics.

Personally, I don't buy the white car theory, as The Walking Dead doesn't generally engage in tiny Easter eggs like this. If the white car were supposed to mean something, it would have been more noticeable, but as it is, it's probably just a car that came a little too close to the set, and the editors either didn't notice or didn't think we would. However, there are many other ways that Negan could find out what happened; Daryl could tell him, for example, or there could have been a Savior watching that wasn't explicitly shown. We know we're not done with the Saviors, as Negan needs to have followers in order to be a real threat, so some of them have to be alive, and it would make perfect sense if some of them were hiding in the woods in case Daryl, Sasha, and Abraham got the upper hand.

Plus, it's just looking more and more likely that Daryl is going to be on the receiving end of Lucille in the finale. Glenn's death was teased yet again in the premiere, and fans' annoyance at the whole dumpster debacle would undercut the sadness of his death considerably. Plus, it's such a huge and famous moment in the comics, even non-comics fans are getting spoiled on it by now, so they will likely want to deviate from the comics a bit to maintain a sense of unpredictability. And, as fans have been saying, Negan is a huge believer in retribution, so whether that white car is part of the story or not, Daryl will probably get his comeuppance for killing a bunch of the Saviors.
