Marvel Announces a New Star Wars: The Force Awakens Comic Series
We're not done with Star Wars: The Force Awakens, not by a long shot. While it's time at the theater is starting to wind down, the legacy of JJ Abrams movie is set to continue with a new comic series announced by Marvel this afternoon.

Opening quote
"'The Force Awakens' knocked our socks off from the very first time we saw it, and we could not wait to start being able to play with these new, awesome characters!" Marvel's Jordan D. White told CBR. "Now, we get to bring all of them to the pages of our comics with an adaptation of the film we loved so much! We're all fans first, so it's all love that is bringing these pages to life!"
Closing quote

The adaptation of The Force Awakens will come from Aftermath author Chuck Wendig, with Luke Ross providing the artwork. In addition to the talents of Ross and Wendig, cover art for the 5-part series will come from Esad Ribic whose work was most recently seen in Marvel's Secret Wars series.

Marvel's Star Wars comics have been proving highly successful over the last year or so, with the Vader Down and Shattered Empire series proving to be personal favorites of mine. But there's still more to come, with a C-3PO series set to explain the droid's red arm, and Poe Dameron getting his own series added to the growing list of new Star Wars Canon properties.

Check out some more preview art from the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens series below. The adaptation is expected to hit stores some time in June.
