Disney Picks Ava DuVernay to Direct A Wrinkle in Time Adaptation
After a lot of talk, it looks like Ava DuVernay has finally been offered the director's role on Disney's ambitious adaptation of 'A Wrinkle in Time'. After reports earlier this month stated that Disney were considering the Selma director for the job, Deadline reports that the House of Mouse have finally secured the services of one of Hollywood's hottest directorial names.

First published in 1963, Madeleine L'Engle's novel has gained a reputation as a modern classic in the science fiction genre. A Wrinkle In Time follows Meg Murry a young girl whose genius father has gone while working on a secret project known as a tesseract. The project centered on transporting objects to a fifth dimension containing mysterious inhabited planets. In the hunt for her father, Meg visits a number of weird and wonderful worlds, meeting an array of bizarre creature on her way.

But, A Wrinkle in Time might not be DuVernay's only upcoming foray into the world of Science Fiction. The director has also been strongly linked with helming 'Intelligent Life', an original science fiction thriller from Jurassic Park's Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly. Which project comes first for DuVernay is yet to be confirmed, but regardless, it looks like DuVernay will be gracing the world of Science Fiction in the very near future.
