New Footage from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Released in Four New TV Spots
Batman v Superman is coming out in just a few weeks, and we've seen all the footage we need to see (and more). So it's probably a good thing that these four new TV spots are relatively restrained in showing new footage, although there's a few new shots and bits of dialogue here and there:

Some of the new footage is encouraging, like the awesome shot of Superman grabbing Batman and blasting out of a building, or of Superman taking a bunch of bullets. The new line from Bruce Wayne, "This may be the only thing I do with the mask," helped to shed some light on the plot as well, as it seems to confirm that he is coming out of retirement solely to fight Superman and is planning on hanging up his mask as soon as that scuffle is over. (Everyone loves a reluctant hero, right?)

But this is Zack Snyder, so of course there are a few idiotic lines to offset that. We've heard the "absolute power corrupts absolutely" line before, but the cliche bothers me more every time I hear it, and a new line may be the worst one yet, even worse than "the Red Capes are coming": Batman tells Superman, "It's time you learn what it means to be a man." Really?? I know that on the surface he's supposed to mean "human" rather than "man," but it's still a stupid line. Every time I start to get really excited about this movie, I'm reminded that this is the same guy who made Sucker Punch.

Here's the official synopsis for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice:

Opening quote
Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City's own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis's most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it's ever known before.
