Listen to an Amazing Star Trek/Hamilton Parody: "My Spock"
Hamilton has become a huge sensation over the past year, so naturally, a brilliant human has mashed it up with one of the most beloved franchises of all time: Star Trek. In this first track from Hamiltrek, which we hope becomes a full-length play, writer/rapper Jackson Lanzing pays tribute to Spock in the style of the Hamilton song, "My Shot."

Lanzing, a screenwriter and comics writer best known for American Horror Story: Freak Show and Batman and Robin Eternal, perfectly captures the spirit of Spock in the clever lyrics while paying homage to the rapid-fire style of Hamilton creator/star Lin-Manuel Miranda: "I dream of life lived rationally / But the Captain prefers one lived passionately / Casually, actually, precisely it is anarchy / But I'll do my best to reinforce sanity." The full lyrics to "My Spock" can be found here.

Lanzing was inspired by Weird Al Yankovic, who, if you remember, once made the perfect Star Wars parody to the lyrics of Don McLean's American Pie. "My very first concerts as a kid were @alyankovic shows," Lanzing tweeted when he released the video. "When it comes to #Hamiltrek, I learned it by watching him."
