Joss Whedon to Write a Captain America Story for Marvel Comics
Joss Whedon may be done with Marvel Studios, but he's enjoyed a long and fruitful relationship with Marvel Comics as well, and he is now returning to that medium to write a story for Captain America: Sam Wilson #7, along with frequent collaborator John Cassaday.

This month's issue is a special occasion for Cap, as it celebrates his 75th anniversary. So in addition to Whedon and Cassaday's story, there will be a main story from current creative team Nick Spencer and Daniel Acuna, as well as a story by Greg Rucka and Mike Perkins.

Whedon and Cassaday previously worked together on the chart-topping series Astonishing X-Men, which was created by Whedon. The series was highly acclaimed, and the conclusion of the first story arc was named by readers #65 of the 70 best Marvel comics of all time. Whedon has also worked on the Marvel series Runaways, Stan Lee Meets Spider-Man, and the Civil War crossover event (which is the basis for the upcoming Captain America movie), while Cassaday previously drew Captain America for a limited series that came out right after 9/11.

Captain America: Sam Rogers #7 has a final pre-order cut-off of March 7 and will hit comic shops everywhere on March 30th.
