First Look at Han Solo's Marvel Comics Series
After three Marvel Comics series focused on individual fan favorite Star Wars characters—Leia, Chewbacca, and Lando—we're finally getting a series for the most iconic character in the Star Wars universe. No, not Luke Skywalker, who is left out in the cold as usual, but Han Solo himself is now getting his own solo (sorry) series:

Han Solo Comics

The series will be written by Marjorie Liu, best known for Astonishing X-Men and Monstress, and illustrated by Mark Brooks, who previously worked on Cable and Deadpool. It will take place between the events of A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back, and will see Han enter in the ultimate pilot's race, the Dragon Void Run, which Liu describes as the space equivalent of Cannonball Run. The race is supposed to be a cover for a mission from Leia to discover whether there are spies in the Rebellion, but he finds himself selfishly caring more about winning the race.

Opening quote
"This is a Han Solo who doesn't quite know who he is anymore," Liu told EW. "He doesn't think about politics, and suddenly he's thrust into this life-or-death struggle for beliefs he didn't even know he cared about - and it has changed him. He doesn't want to believe that change, but he has."

The series will also introduce a new species of alien to the Star Wars universe in the form of a character named Loo Re Anno, a legendary pilot who takes a special interest in Han, because he reminds her of a younger version of herself. Nothing is known about her appearance except that she is tall, "reptilian," "elegant," and has multiple limbs.

Opening quote
"She's never lost a race, she's part of a dying species," said Liu. "She might be the last of her kind, these aliens that don't really have a home planet. They're nomads. In fact, her people actually founded the Dragon Void Run thousands of years ago. She feels like this is going to be perhaps her last race for good, so she's in this thing and she's dignified and everyone's a bit in awe of her.

The Han Solo limited series will be available from Marvel Comics in June.
