New Report Details How the Flash Will Make His Appearance in Batman v Superman
Batman v Superman is now just over two weeks away, and for some reason, more information about the film than ever is now hitting the media waves. This week, EW published an article containing portions of interviews with certain big players at the DCEU, such as director Zack Snyder, actor Ben Affleck, and brain trust member Geoff Johns. The article goes over how the future of the DCEU will be laid out by Batman v Superman, and in doing so, it detailed just how the Flash will make his big appearance in the movie that's just 19 days away.

Opening quote
While trying to establish this new multi-hero reality, Batman v Superman also warps it a little to foreshadow some of the threats – and potential saviors – who could appear further down the line. Snyder says there's a kind of A Christmas Carol aspect to these visions. Maybe they're true glimpses of the future – or maybe they're warnings.

The film is laced with dream sequences for both Batman and Superman that hint at dangers to come – including the possible appearance of DC's galactic ultra-villain Darkseid. The Flash (played by Miller) appears in one such nightmare of Bruce Wayne's, delivering a cryptic message to the Dark Knight.

Fans will have to debate whether it was really a dream, or maybe the kinetic hero breaking through time-space to deliver a warning. Synder calls this 'a giant Easter egg' that he hopes will spawn plenty of online theories. 'We had such a straightforward narrative, on one hand, I wanted this other layer of the movie to be complicated and bizarre,' he says.
Closing quote

Interestingly enough, this sounds exactly like a scene cut right out of Crisis on Infinite Earths, the famous storyline by Marv Wolfman and George Perez. In it, the Flash randomly appears to Batman succeeding his recent disappearance during one of the Dark Knight's brawls with the Joker. He delivers a message that Bats doesn't quite understand - one about a dying world and dying loved ones.

Fans have already seen that these dream sequences will likely set up Darkseid's debut in Justice League, with things that look like parademons lifting people into the skies and a giant omega symbol etched into a field on the outskirts of either Gotham or Metropolis. Incorporating this scene from Crisis would be yet another beautiful way to tie in the source material and create parallels from the comics.

However, as cool as this info is, should Snyder really have given it away before the film? Many people have already criticized the filmmakers' decision to give away as much of the plot as they have in the many trailers and TV spots, and one of the only things left about the movie that everyone was still in the total dark about was the cameos concerning members of the Justice League. Now, thanks to this interview, even that's no longer a surprise.

Hopefully the team can keep the rest of the movie under wraps until the 24th, but somehow it seems sort of doubtful given the track record. Of course, revealing this information beforehand doesn't change the quality of the movie - but it does affect how fans fans will enjoy it and even react to it. No doubt, this would have been an enjoyable thing to see on screen first, instead of reading about it online or in a magazine.
