Take a Tour of Star Wars: Episode VIII's Dubrovnik Set
Star Wars: The Force Awakens might have been a movie shrouded in secrecy, but it looks like its successor, Star Wars: Episode VIII will be a little more relaxed when it comes to keeping things from fans. In fact, just last recently, Daisy Ridley said she expected Rian Johnson and co. to release more teasers from the set, and we're probably already starting to see the effects of this more relaxed attitude in Croatia right now.

The Star Wars: Episode VIII crew has been busy transforming the historic city of Dubrovnik into an exotic hub of the Star Wars galaxy, and both tourists and locals have been given free reign to explore the transformation as it happens. From the images we've seen from Dubrovnik so far, the architecture is starting to look remarkably like a famous planet from the Star Wars prequel movies, but we're certainly a long way from being able to confirm that.

While I'm sure there will be more security on other key sets, the amount of visibility being allowed in Dubrovnik is quite amazing. The result of this new open attitude is that, thanks to the good people of Dubrovnik, we can now take an up close and personal tour of a Star Wars set that won't be see in theaters for almost two years.

Uploaded this morning, the video below allows you to take a 360 degree tour of one of the main streets being transformed by LucasFilm. You can explore the video by clicking and dragging to rotate your perspective. Note the buttresses on the walls and the archways that have been added to various doors.

The next video takes us through some of the more detailed elements of the set. We learn of the rumors that Rian Johnson plans to shoot a speeder chase scene in the city tomorrow, and see some more of the modifications the studio has made to some of Dubrovnik's landmark sights.

With filming expected to start in Dubrovnik tomorrow, the Star Wars creature shop has arrived in the city, bringing with it an array of the franchise's many weird and wonderful aliens with which to populate this mystery city. There are also rumors that the Dubrovnik shoot will include a substantial scene set on the water, which would lend even more support to the notion that Episode VIII will be visiting a certain planet from the prequels.
