Mark Hamill Confirms He's Playing Joker in DC Comics' Batman: The Killing Joke Movie
After much speculation, it has finally been confirmed that Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy will reprise their iconic roles as Joker and Batman in DC Comics' upcoming animated adaptation of The Killing Joke. Hamill confirmed the move in a statement, saying that he was over the moon to be returning to a role that he first took up in 'Batman: The Animated Series' back in the mid-90s.

Opening quote
"The chance to work once again with Kevin Conroy, my favorite Batman, in what some consider the definitive origin of this iconic villain is a dream come true for me," Hamill told CBR. "I am beyond thrilled to return as The Joker in 'The Killing Joke!'"

After Hamill's statement went live, the Star Wars legend took to social media to release the first image from the animated movie, along with a series of quotes which showed he's just as excited about this move as we are.

Kevin Conroy, however, makes Hamill look like a relative rookie when it comes to the DC Comics universe. Voicing Batman across multiple art forms from Video Games to TV Shows to Animated Movies for more than 20 years, Conroy feels as much a part of Batman as dead parents. As part of the announcement, Conroy told CBR that he's relishing the opportunity to perform alongside Mark Hamill once again.

Opening quote
"I've had the great privilege of voicing Batman for more than two decades, and some of my favorite moments in the recording booth have been alongside Mark Hamill. Mark always enables me to be a better actor. I'm thrilled that we're both back to bring these characters to life in one of the most heralded Batman/Joker stories of all time."
Closing quote

Written by Alan Moore with art from Brian Bolland, The Killing Joke is widely regarded as one of the greatest Batman stories of all time. DC's animated movie is set to premiere at this year's San Diego Comic Con before being released to the public later on in the Summer.
