Sebastian Stan Reveals What's in Bucky's Backpack
The Captain America: Civil War trailers have been poured over countless times looking for clues, and one thing fans have noticed is that Bucky Barnes is always carrying around a backpack like he's heading to class. So what's in his bag? His Winter Soldier costume? Guns? Bootleg Star Wars DVDs? Well, it looks like we don't have to guess anymore because actor Sebastian Stan is spilling the beans on what his character is toting around. Here's what he told a fan on Instagram:

Opening quote
"In his backpack there are a dozen notebooks that compose the scattered memories dating back to as far as he can remember which somewhat piece together a scattered life. In a similar way to Alzheimer's, he's written things down, for fear of losing his memory again ... He was prepared, were something to happen, to walk away with nothing but that backpack, which is why it's the only thing he takes and knowing full well that not everything those pages contain is pretty."
Closing quote

Wow. So a couple things. One, that's pretty fantastic fan service from Stan to give an in-depth answer to a question on Instagram of all platforms. Good on you, Sebastian. And two, it sounds like Civil War is really going to be fleshing out Bucky's character, including the emotional turmoil that his situation leaves him in. It's pretty heavy stuff, and something that honestly could have been explored more with regards to fellow man-out-of-time Steve Rogers, but we're glad to see Bucky getting some love in the new film.
