It Sounds Like Kevin Smith Is Not a Fan of 'Batman v Superman'
Kevin Smith might be the biggest Batman fan, nay, the biggest DC Comics fan in all of Hollywood. The writer/director/actor knows comics, and he knows movies, so his opinion on Batman v Superman is probably worth more than most. So what did he think of it? Meh, not great.

Smith gives a lengthy review of the film on the latest episode of his podcast, Fat Man on Batman, and his criticisms cut to the heart of the film. Or they would, if the film had a heart. Here's some of what Smith says about the movie:

Opening quote
"The movie I felt like didn't really have a heart. It was certainly f-ing humorless, there was nothing funny going on in that world whatsoever."
Closing quote

Ouch. Smith generally describes the film as too dark, with off characterizations, and he didn't care fore Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor. He didn't hate everything in the film, though. He praises Ben Affleck's Batman as the best ever on screen incarnation, even though he didn't think the character was much like Batman due to his extreme violence, killing, and use of guns. He even refers to him as "Bat Trump" due to his irrational hatred of aliens.

Overall, he seems to dislike a lot of the film but stops short of saying that it's total trash, possibly out of politeness. You can check out Smith's review below, but be forewarned of spoilers and NSFW language.
