Marvel's Iron Fist Casts Star Wars and Game of Thrones Actress in Lead Role
Marvel's Iron Fist is shaping up to be a mini-Game of Thrones reunion, as Jessica Henwick has just been cast as the female lead opposite fellow GOT alum Finn Jones. She'll be playing Colleen Wing, a descendant of samurai and a martial arts master.

Henwick is best known for playing Nymeria Sand, one of the Sand Snakes, in Game of Thrones, but she also had a small role in another Disney-owned geek property: Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Her character, Jessika Pava, made a brief appearance in the film as an X-Wing pilot, and has a fleshed-out backstory as a famed Jedi Knight from the 2015 novel The Weapon of a Jedi: A Luke Skywalker Adventure.

Colleen Wing's role in the series is described by EW as "a martial arts expert running her own dojo, Colleen will serve as an invaluable ally to Iron Fist, aka Danny Rand (Finn Jones), as he returns to his life in New York." In the comics, she wields a 1,000-year-old katana and has no supernatural powers, but uses chi control to enhance her strength and accelerate her healing.

Production for the first season of Iron Fist is set to begin in April, while the series is expected to arrive sometime in 2017.
