The Villain for Wolverine 3 Has Officially Been Cast
Variety is reporting that Boyd Holbrook, star of Narcos, is currently in talks to play the chief antagonist of the third Wolverine movie.

Not much has been said about his character, except the fact that he'll apparently be the "chief of security for a global corporation." Everything else is apparently currently under wraps.

There hasn't been a lot of buzz about the film as of yet, as it's release date is still almost a year away at March 3rd, 2017. However, Hugh Jackman did mention during his appearance at San Diego Comic-Con last year that the film will evidently be largely inspired by the popular Old Man Logan comic book story arc, a revelation that was met with cheers by fans.

Patrick Stewart will also be returning to the role of Professor X, which definitely makes sense if this is going to be a film that's dealing with an older Wolverine. Sadly, however, Hugh Jackman has said that this will be his last time taking on the role of Logan.

Boyd Holbrook is known for a handful of other roles, though Narcos is certainly the one he's most well known for. He's made appearances in movies like Gone Girl, The Skeleton Twins, and the Hatfields & McCoys as well.

Of course, the Wolverine "trilogy" has been an interesting set of movies, with X-Men Origins being a disappointment, and the Wolverine somewhat redeeming the franchise (if one could call it a franchise). Wolverine 3 will likely be the most interesting one of them yet, and since it looks like Fox has learned their lesson about pitfalls with X-Men Origins, there's certainly a lot to be excited about.
