Are the Guardians of the Galaxy in 'Avengers: Infinity War'?
Avengers: Infinity War is still a couple years away, but there are a few things we know about the film. We know that Thanos will be the villain, and once he dons his Infinity Gauntlet it's going to take basically the entire Marvel universe to stop him. That means something like 68 characters will be enlisted to stop him, and we've always assumed that would include the Guardians of the Galaxy. But we've never had any confirmation that they would be involved.

Now, in an interview with comicbook.com, co-director Anthony Russo seems to hint that the Guardians will be involved. Or at least one of them will be. When asked what new aspect of the Marvel cinematic universe he's most looking forward to incorporating into Infinity War, Russo said:

Opening quote
"The movies are intended to be a culmination of everything that's happened before in the MCU so you don't want to get into spoilers, but I'm a big fan of what [Guardians director] James Gunn has done. [Joe Russo and I] are both big fans of what James Gunn has done. Star-Lord is a fantastic character and Chris Pratt is an awesome performer so you'd be very excited."

So it looks like at the very least, the only earthling among the Guardians will have a role to play in the battle against Thanos. Does this mean Peter Quill heads home to Earth at the end of Guardians 2? How does he meet up with the Avengers? So many questions!
