New Ben Affleck Batman Movie Confirmed
It's official. During their CinemaCon panel in Las Vegas on April 12, Warner Bros. head Kevin Tsujihara confirmed that Ben Affleck will indeed return as the Dark Knight in a solo Batman movie, as expected. What Tsujihara did not confirm, however, is that Affleck will be directing the film, as has been rumored. He merely said the studio was "working with" Affleck on the film.

The news definitely isn't much of a shocker. Affleck's Batman, despite his apparent NRA membership, was one of the few aspects of Batman v Superman that most people seemed to like, and there have been non-stop claims that he'd be getting his own movie. Tsujihara also mentioned at the panel that Warner Bros. had ten DC movies lined up over the next five years, which pokes a hole in theories suggesting that Batman v Superman's lackluster reception would have an effect on the future of DC films.

As far as what those ten films are, we know of Suicide Squad this year, Wonder Woman and Justice League: Part One next year, The Flash and Aquaman in 2018, Shazam and Justice League: Part Two in 2019, and Cyborg and Green Lantern Corps in 2020, to go along with the new Batman film, whenever that may be. So really, it doesn't look like Batman v Superman hurt the DCU at all. In fact, it even managed to add a film to the already busy slate. So that's something.
