Marvel and Sony Want Michael Keaton to Play the Villain in Spider-Man: Homecoming
Captain America: Civil War is almost here, and if the great reviews are anything to go by, we might just have found a Spider-Man that everybody can get on board with. But, while everyone seems agreed that Tom Holland's show-stealing Spidey is a winner, there's been a great deal of debate over who the villain will be in his solo movie, Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Last night, we told you there were rumblings that Spider-Man would be facing off against Vulture in the 2017 movie, and now, Variety are reporting that Marvel and Sony are in advanced talks with Michael Keaton to cast the former Batman actor in what they believe to be the lead villain role.

While Variety's sources don't confirm who Keaton would be playing, we can't help but think Keaton is perfect for the role of Adrian Toomes aka Vulture. The charismatic villain utilizes a unique harness to allow him to soar through New York City's skies, but he's also a great deal older than his foe, Spider-Man. At 64, Michael Keaton is still a little young to be playing Toomes, but he's certainly got the athleticism to pull of playing the surprisingly spry airborne villain. Add to the fact that brief glimpse we got of Keaton in costume during Oscar-winning movie Birdman, and things start to look even better.

Of course, this is all conjecture right now as even the Vulture rumors admitted that Homecoming could feature multiple villains (sigh). Marvel and Sony haven't responded to Variety's report, but regardless of who he is playing, Keaton will be an incredible addition to the Homecoming cast.
