Batman v Superman Has Made $800 Million Worldwide and $300 Million Domestic
Batman v Superman continues to trudge on at the box office. Or perhaps snail on would be more apt?

The movie featuring the two biggest superheroes of all time has just crossed the $800 million line worldwide and the $300 million line domestically. The film had one of the biggest opening weekends of all time, and was even reported to have a significant amount of viewers buying tickets for repeat screenings. Ultimately, though, the terrible critical reception of the film resulted in a highly diminished interest in the film. Batman v Superman started the race in an all out sprint, but lost it's breath by the second weekend.

There are a lot of fans who love the film, and that's not exactly unsurprising given Zack Snyder's  uncanny and unparalleled ability to make divisive movies. It's clear that the grand majority of critics do not agree, however, and it would seem that BvS' somewhat disappointing run at the box office is primarily due to that fact in particular. It doesn't look like Batman v Superman will be crossing that $1 billion mark at this point, and that's a shame considering the movie features the world's two most popular fictional superheroes.

$800 million is nothing to scoff at, however, and it'll certainly be enough to keep the DCEU moving forward. Judging from his track record, Snyder's future movies will likely suffer from the same issues that Batman v Superman and Man of Steel did. So if anyone didn't like them, they probably shouldn't get their hopes up to high that Justice League will be any better. However, the DCEU's other future films, like Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, Batman, Flash, Aquaman, Green Lantern Corps., Shazam, and Cyborg, will hopefully fare much better with critical reception. So for those who aren't fans of Snyder's polarizing work…don't give up just yet.
