Netflix Orders New Sci-Fi Drama From 'Stargate SG-1' Co-Creator
It's been nine years since cult favorite series Stargate SG-1 went off the air, but now the fans of that show may have reason to rejoice. A new science fiction drama from the series' co-creator, Brad Wright, has just been ordered to series by Netflix.

The new series is called Travelers, and it will star Eric McCormack of Will & Grace fame. The show is about a group of so-called Travelers from hundreds of years in the future, who travel back in time to our time to prevent a disastrous event in their time. Not exactly the most original concept we've ever heard of, but it still sounds fun. McCormack portrays an FBI agent in the series who is the leader of the group, and the show also features Mackenzie Porter, Jared Paul Abrahamson, Nesta Marlee Cooper, Reilly Dolman, and of course, Patrick Gilmore, who has appeared in all three Stargate series to date.

Production began this week in Vancouver, and the series is expected to premiere later this year on the streaming service. Speaking to Variety, McCormack said of the project, "My old friend Brad Wright has created a fantastic, complex story with some very rich and complicated characters, and I'm awfully happy to be one of them."

We're sure we'll be awfully happy to see them as well.
