Did Maisie Williams Just Confirm She's in Talks for the X-Men New Mutants Movie?
A recent report claimed that Maisie Williams has been cast in the New Mutants movie as Wolfsbane, but all official sources, including Williams herself, have remained mum about the casting. Now, Williams has commented on the rumors, and while she hasn't outright confirmed that she's in talks for the role, she gave us reason to believe that it's true:
Opening quote
"I can't say much about it at all, but I would absolutely love to be a part of it, [and] to be a part of the Marvel family," Williams told EW. "New Mutants looks absolutely incredible and I've always loved the idea of spin-offs and [director] Joshua Boone is incredibly talented. So, yeah, sign me up."
Closing quote

Technically, she's not confirming anything, but the fact that she can't talk about it says volumes. It's possible that she is in talks and it still won't happen, or even that she was part of the audition process and already didn't get the role, but I can't think of a reason she wouldn't be able to talk about it if she weren't involved in the movie in some capacity.

Williams was rumored to be cast as Wolfsbane, a mutant who can transform herself into a wolf (so basically, the sci-fi version of a werewolf). She also eventually joins the X-Force, so hopefully that means Williams would be in the running for that R-rated X-Force movie. Her casting was reported alongside The Witch star Anya Taylor Joy's as Magik, a teleporting mutant and capable sorceress (surprise, surprise).

There's no official release date for the New Mutants movie, but it is rumored to be the untitled X-Men film coming out on June 13, 2018.
