The 2020 Green Lantern Corps Movie is Rumored to Feature Three Lanterns From Earth
It was confirmed at SDCC 2015 that the DCEU's Green Lantern movie would in fact be a Green Lantern Corps movie. This excited many fans, as it not only unlocks all types of possibilities for the future of the DCEU, but because it hinted at the potential of the film featuring not just one fan favorite Green Lantern, but all of them.

Now, Latino Review is reporting on a scoop they've received, stating that Hal Jordan, John Stewart, and Kyle Rayner will each be featured in the film, and that the studio is looking for someone of the "age range, say, of Matt Damon" to play Hal Jordan.

This will no doubt make a lot of fans happy, as there was some amount of debate among fan communities over whether or not Hal Jordan or John Stewart should be the Green Lantern to fit into the DCEU's Justice League. Hal Jordan is no doubt the most popular Lantern from the comics, but an entire generation grew up watching Stewart as the team's Lantern from Bruce Timm's legendary animated series. Kyle Rayner also achieved some amount of popularity, but really, his inclusion will probably do nothing but stir debate about why or why not they should have chosen Guy Gardner as the third Lantern instead.

Then there's the fact that they're looking for someone of Matt Damon's age range to play Hal Jordan. Why the scoop was reported in this fashion instead of simply saying that they're looking for someone in their forties seems to be suggesting that Damon could possibly be the one the studio is currently eying for the role. Whether that's really the case or not is anybody's guess, but it would be cool to have Damon and Affleck both on the team. Plus, Barry and Hal are basically best friends in the comics, and the idea of creating that same relationship between someone like Damon and Ezra Miller seems like it could be a lot of fun to see on screen.

That being said, the producers of Justice League recently mentioned that they weren't even sure if a Green Lantern would be in Justice League part 2 or not, and that fans may not see him until the Green Lantern Corps film of 2020. Hopefully that won't be the case, however, as the Green Lantern has always been a founding member of the Justice League in the comics, and it would be a shame not to introduce one of them before showing fans the entire corps in the movie.

All in all, these are still just rumors, and must be taken with a grain of salt. However, Latino Review has definitely been right before, and DC seems to be making quite a lot of decisions regarding their upcoming slate right now. Fans will likely know more of the details after SDCC 2016.
