Mads Mikkelsen Just Confirmed His Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Character
Mystery tends to follow Mads Mikkelsen everywhere. The Danish actor, who made his name in the likes of Casino Royale and Hannibal, is rapidly becoming a big name in geek culture with two major roles in Marvel's Doctor Strange and the Disney's first Star Wars spin-off, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Both of those roles have been shrouded in mystery, with fans of both the Marvel and Star Wars franchises churning out fan theories at a rate of knots.

While we've seen Mikkelsen in images from Doctor Strange, we're yet to see him appear in anything coming out of Rogue One, a fact which has only heightened the speculation about his character. But in a new interview with Sky News today, Mikkelsen let slip a major detail about his role, confirming a long-held fan theory in the process.

In the video, seen below, Mikkelsen confirms that he is playing the father of Felicity Jones's protagonist, Jyn Erso.

Mikkelsen appears to immediately recognize that he's said too much, which would seem to suggest that he was under orders from LucasFilm to not reveal anything about his character at this early stage. But then again, he did flash a quick cheeky grin just after, so maybe he knew exactly what he was doing?

It's not much to go on, but it's one of the first concrete details we've had about either of his two 2016 big-screen roles, so we'll definitely take it.
