Ewan McGregor Has Not Been Approached for a Solo Obi-Wan Movie
The Star Wars prequels are almost universally disliked by fans, but a few elements got out of the films unscathed, most notably Ewan McGregor's turn as a young Obi-Wan Kenobi. Now that the anthology films allow Star Wars to revisit different points in the timeline, many fans have clamored for an Obi-Wan solo movie, and McGregor himself seemed to be on board with the idea:

Opening quote
"I'd very much like to do one too. I think the story between Episode III and Episode IV, I think there's a story there," McGregor said in March. "I think that's the Obi-Wan Kenobi movie, if there is one. The one that bridges my Obi-Wan Kenobi and Alec's Obi-Wan Kenobi because there's a-I don't know how long he's in the desert there, but it's got to be twenty or thirty years."
Closing quote

His ideas for the potential solo film sound great, and very in keeping with the anthology movies, as Rogue One also takes place in between Episodes III and IV (although much closer to Episode IV than an Obi-Wan movie would be). But in response to fans running with his comments and speculating that a movie is actually in the works, he clarified that he doesn't actually have any news about an anthology film:

Opening quote
"If they asked me to, I would be happy to," he told Collider. "But it looks like I am campaigning for it, just because I get asked about it, all the time. So, I would like it to be known that I don't bring it up, at these interviews, of my own free will. I only respond to questions I'm asked to. I don't know anything about it. They've never approached me about it."
Closing quote

This is a little disappointing, since the premise sounds very promising, and is a part of the Star Wars mythology that we'd love to see fleshed out. However, this doesn't mean that it will never happen, just that it's not in the works quite yet. Which makes sense, considering that we already have Rogue One, the Han Solo prequel, and a rumored Boba Fett movie down the pipeline. But if Lucasfilm really does plan to do one Star Wars film from now until the end of time, then we have plenty of time to see McGregor return to the role.
