Rumor: Ben Affleck and Geoff Johns Have Complete Creative Control Over Batman Movie
In the latest episode of Heroic Insider, the online video series by Heroic Hollywood, Umberto Gonzalez reported on a scoop he received from industry insiders that Ben Affleck and Geoff Johns have been given complete creative control over the recently confirmed Batman film of the DCEU.

Gonzalez, who talks about the upcoming Batman film around the 23 minute mark, is known for reporting on similar scoops in the past, and though at this time it should be considered purely as rumor, he did accurately predict a number of plot points and creative choices in Batman v Superman, the content and song choice for the first official Suicide Squad trailer, and the song choice for the third Suicide Squad trailer before anyone of them were released.

If what he says is true, then it's certainly very good news for DC fans. No one knows the DC universe better than Geoff Johns, and he's the man responsible for Batman: Earth One, one of the major influences on the cinematic iteration of the character portrayed by Ben Affleck.  Likewise, Affleck is a long time comic book fan himself, and to have the man who co-wrote Good Will Hunting working on the script for the Batman film seems almost too good to be true.

Gonzalez also says in the video that the story they're going with won't be Under the Red Hood, as was previously rumored. That's a slight disappointment, as Under the Red Hood is one of the most popular Batman stories of all time, and would provide the opportunity to integrate a number of other storylines and characters from the Batman mythos to the DCEU. However, Johns and Affleck may have something even better in mind, so it may be best to wait and see before judging.

Hopefully, this scoop, like many of the others Gonzalez has reported on, will turn out to be true. Having Johns and Affleck working side by side as the sole decision makers behind the movie's creative choices is something that could very well work out for everyone involved, and most importantly, for the fans.
