Agent Carter is Officially Canceled
Bad news, Agent Carter fans. Though this has been a long time coming, the show has officially been canceled following its drop in ratings during the sophomore season.

The second season of Agent Carter ended with a tie for the series' lowest ratings ever, and many knew that would mean doom for the show. That looks very much to be the case, and the show's star, Haley Atwell, is going on to act in a new title called "Conviction."

Earlier in the day, executive producer Tara Butters tweeted for fans to show their support for the show as ABC's decision was drawing near. However, it looks like the fan outcry simply wasn't enough to save Agent Carter.

The fact that Attwell is moving on to a new role on a different show doesn't seem to be stopping fans from tweeting to #SaveAgentCarter. Despite its drop in ratings, Agent Carter was obviously still beloved by a ton of Marvel fans who're refusing to give up. Some fans are even calling for Netflix to pick it up, just as they did for Constantine following its cancellation.

In reality, it looks like the funeral held for Peggy Carter during Captain America: Civil War was not only an event that marked the death of her character, but the death of her show as well. There's always an off chance that something could be done and the show could end up elsewhere, but it seems more likely that those types of decisions would have been made before news of its cancellation hit the air (such as what happened with Supergirl).

So it looks like it's time to say goodbye to Peggy Carter, Marvel fans. There's always a chance that she could make a cameo in another Marvel film or TV show in the future, but for now, it looks like it's safe to say that her time in the spotlight is likely over.
