ABC Passes on Marvel's Most Wanted
Marvel television isn't having a great day. After the tragic (but expected) cancellation of Agent Carter, ABC pulled a more surprising move and failed to pick up the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. spin-off, Marvel's Most Wanted.

Mockingbird and Lance Hunter have been fan favorite characters since they came on the show, and Marvel clearly felt confident about the show's chances, considering that the characters were written off of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. earlier in the season. So even though we'd heard rumors to this effect, this still comes as a surprise, especially since it seemed that Most Wanted was going to replace Agent Carter as the mid-season substitute for AOS.

According to Deadline, the show wasn't picked up because the pilot was getting mixed reviews, and the network couldn't justify adding it to its roster. There's a chance that the show will be redeveloped, but it was already redeveloped once last year, so that seems unlikely. More probably is that the characters will be brought back to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., since their exit was somewhat open-ended.

This is disappointing, especially since Marvel doesn't seem to be having as much luck with primetime shows as DC, which just moved their last outstanding show, Supergirl, to The CW for its second season. They're having more luck on Netflix, though, so maybe the streaming service will pick up Agent Carter and will be the go-to for other projects in the future.
