Last week, Bryan Singer revealed that the post-credits scene of X-Men: Apocalypse, which wasn't shown to any critics or fans in early screenings, teases Wolverine 3 and a new villain for the X-Men cinematic universe. Now, a spoiler-y description reveals which villain that will be, and how it might relate to the upcoming R-Rated Wolverine sequel.

Possible spoilers for X-Men: Apocalypse and Wolverine 3 ahead!

Here's the description of the post-credits scene, according to a report from Bleeding Cool:
Opening quote
We see a besuited man walking through the remains of the Weapon X clean-up programme, removing the blood, bodies and bullets. And a suited man retrieving vials of Wolverine's blood labelled Weapon X. And placing them into his briefcase which contains other vials of differing colours. Slamming shut, it is labelled ESSEX CORP.
Closing quote

As Singer indicated, we don't actually see the villain, but it is heavily implied to be Mister Sinister. In the comics, Mister Sinister's alter-ego is Nathaniel Essex, a scientist in the 19th century who was obsessed with immortality (as most of them are). So it's possible that he will be Richard E. Grant's villainous character, who doesn't have a name yet but is described as a "mad scientist-type." And as Singer said, the appearance of Mister Sinister could also tease other movies, especially since he was responsible for creating Cable, who has been confirmed to be the antagonist in the Deadpool sequel.

X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27.
