CW Releases 2016/17 Comicbook TV Schedule
The CW has fast become the home of geek TV, with Arrow and The Flash blazing a trail that has helped the network transform itself over the last few years. After the popularity of Barry Allen and Oliver Queen's adventures, this year saw CW's DC-verse expanded to include Legends of Tomorrow. But the network's commitment to geek TV didn't stop there, because this fall will see Supergirl joining the network after the Kryptonian's first season ratings didn't warrant a renewal at her original CBS home.

Now CW has released their 2016/17 primetime schedules, giving geeks a chance to plan their nightly viewing. CW's DC-verse has thrived already dominated three of the network's key evenings, but now it looks as though that's going to expand to four, with Supergirl slotting into the same Monday slot she enjoyed over at CBS. The Flash, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow all stay put in their respective slots, meaning that every day from Monday thru Thursday will offer an injection of DC Comics entertainment.

Closing quote
It was rumored as late as yesterday that CW was eyeing up an evening of 'strong females', and today's announcement confirms that, between Kara Zor-El and Jane Villanueva, that will indeed be the case. The shuffle also means that Vampire Diaries spin-off, The Originals, has been bumped to CW's mid-season schedule, with Crazy Ex-Girlfriend airing on Fridays. Such is the depth of CW's geek line-up, their mid-season schedule will also include iZombie's third season and the debut season of Archie Comics show, Riverdale.
