The 100 Season Finale: Eliza Taylor Teases Major Character Death and a "Beautiful Reunion"
The 100's season finale is tonight (read our full predictions here), and from the sounds of it, we're in for a heartbreaking episode (which is par for the course for The 100). Eliza Taylor just did a round of interviews about the episode, and she teased a character death, a huge cliffhanger (no!!), and, of course, a reunion for Clarke and a dearly departed favorite. But most importantly, she claims it's one of the best episodes that The 100 has ever done:

Opening quote
"I'm really excited for people to see the finale. I've been saying that for a long time now," Taylor told IGN. "Since we shot it, I just feel like it's one of the best episodes. I haven't seen it myself yet but it's very interesting and complicated and I think fans are going to be happy."

Last week, in the first part of the two-part finale, we almost lost several characters, most notably Abby, who tried to hang herself on A.L.I.E.'s behest before Murphy cut her down in the nick of time. But that relief can only last so long on The 100, and Taylor assures us that, as usual, there will be a big death in the finale.

Opening quote
"There will be a death, but I'm not going to tell you which one," Taylor told E! Online.

There is one character whose fate was up in the air at the end of last episode: recurring character Roan, the king of Ice Nation who was stabbed and possibly killed last week. But it looks like his fate won't be resolved until next season, because even Taylor doesn't know if he's coming back.

Opening quote
"I actually called Jason [Rothenberg] and I was like, 'Is Roan coming back?' and he was like 'I'm not telling you!'" Taylor said. "I hope Zach [McGowan] comes back because he's been such an interesting character and one that we really haven't explored yet, and I think there could be a really great camaraderie between Azgeda and Skaikru. Or not? Who knows! I'm hoping that he'll come back, but I honestly don't know!"

But regardless of which character dies, we're in for a killer ending, as Taylor revealed that the episode leaves us on a cliffhanger (which will hopefully go better than The Walking Dead's). But that being said, she doesn't actually know how the season ends, only that it will be a WTF kind of moment:

Opening quote
"There were two different endings we were going to use and I'm not sure which one they've gone with," Taylor said. "Either way, people are going to be like 'Oh my god, now I have to wait another year! F**k!'"

And finally, she teased the moment we've all been waiting for: a reunion between Clarke and her lover, Lexa. We already knew that Alycia Debnam-Carey would be returning for the episode, since Jason Rothenberg teased it and fans snapped pictures of the two women filming in the center of downtown Vancouver (which is standing in for the City of Light, naturally), and Taylor went ahead and teased the fan favorite's appearance:

Opening quote
"I think everyone knows that we are going to see Lexa again," Taylor told EW. "What I am excited about is for them to see how and in what way we find her again. It's going to be a really beautiful reunion."
Closing quote

But how will Lexa's reappearance in the City of Light affect Clarke? We haven't really seen her grieve, so will it distract her from her mission to defeat A.L.I.E.? Luckily, it seems that Lexa will rally Clarke to defeat the AI, which is as it should be.

Opening quote
"Thinking someone's gone forever and then seeing them again is pretty non-explanatory [sic]," said Taylor. "It's going to change Clarke for the best and make her stronger and even more determined to save her people… as usual."

The 100's season finale, "Perverse Instantiation part 2," airs tonight at 9pm on The CW.
