No, John Boyega Hasn't Been Cast in Black Panther
Well, that's a bummer. After rumors started swirling yesterday that Star Wars breakout John Boyega might join the MCU, the actor has swiftly denied the reports and killed our dreams.
The rumor mill started working overtime yesterday claiming that Boyega had been cast in Black Panther, although admittedly based on very shaky evidence. In addition to the fact that Boyega has expressed his desire to join the MCU (but honestly, who wouldn't?), the actor posted a "meeting" snapchat minutes before Kevin Feige started following him on Twitter. But now, Boyega's representatives have told THR that he "is not and will not be part of the movie." Boyega's agent also confirmed the intel via Twitter:

This is very disappointing, but not all that surprising. The evidence was circumstantial at best, and Boyega has his hands quite full at the moment, not only is he committed to Star Wars for at least three movies (probably), but he has also joined the dystopian Dave Eggers adaptation The Circle, co-starring Tom Hanks and Emma Watson.

Black Panther, which will be directed by Ryan Coogler and star Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong'o, and Michael B. Jordan, will come out on July 6, 2018.
